Ry at the Pumpkin Patch

A couple days ago I took Ryland down south to a town called Gilbert, AZ.  They have a cute little pumpkin patch with goats, cows, roosters, hay stack maze, bounce house and tractor rides.  It was perfect for kiddos his age.  The place is called Mother Natures Farm and they are open daily for all of October.  With payed admission the kids got to pick out a pumpkin and decorate it full of stickers.

Once again, just snapshots, nothing fancy with the editing.  :-)  Enjoy the pictures!  STAY TUNED for a fabulous sneak peek from a family session at the Scottsdale Civic Center.

Portrait Party #2…just one…

I had two portrait parties this week.  This is just a good way to get lots of families in, in a short time period.  Lots of families are planning on giving photos as Christmas gifts (GREAT IDEA!) and using their photos for Christmas cards.

This family was so much fun to photograph!  They had a wonderful son who loved to take pictures.  At only 4 years old, he did a fantastic job!!  I get a lot of comments about my “polaroid” picture, so I thought he would be up for the task.  BTW – I got the “polaroid” idea from Mark Brooke, who is a fantastic photographer based out of Southern California.  :-)  I wasn’t quite sure if a 4 year old could get the concept of covering your face and holding out a polariod pic, but I was WRONG!  He did awesome!!  Here is the end result:

More posts to come in a day or so….

Portrait Party Sneak Peek (Part 1)

Last Thursday, I had a Portrait Party at our local park.  I was able to photograph 4 different families in 2 hours.  The reason a Portrait Party is different that a regular session is I only photograph you for about 20-30 minutes and pass on between 5-10 proofs.  These are great right around Christmas time, especially for those looking to give portraits as gifts or order Christmas Cards for friends and families.

This is just a sneak peek of the first two families I photographed.  Hopefully, I will post part 2 in a couple days.  I am just lovin’ the “Mocha” conversion on the first pic…it seems to be a little softer than a traditional black and white picture.  Enjoy!!

Jackie - Sweet pictures!

Snapshots from the big birthday party!

Here are a few snapshots from Ryland’s big 2nd birthday party!!  We opened up family gifts in the morning, then had friends over for an outdoor BBQ!  Ryland went to be at about 10:30 PM, so he was a trooper!!  He was a little worried why everyone was singing Happy Birthday to him.

Also, as you can see, I don’t edit all of my pictures.  In cases like this, I switch my camera over to JPEG (instead of RAW), and start clicking away.  I don’t worry about blow-puts, focus points, or white balance settings.  Sometimes it is nice to not worry about the technicalities and just shoot!!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Ryland, we love you with all of our hearts!!

Photo Shoot for True Genius Clothing

A couple days ago I got the pleasure of running around with two wonderful kiddos at a park in Scottsdale, AZ. Tammy Graham, of True Genius Apparel Company needed some product shots of some of her new shirts. If you haven’t been to their website yet, check it out, they have AWESOME clothes, plus, they are sooooo soft! Ryland wears his all the time!! Our goal for the shoot was to get the kids in their natural environment, just playing around, not posed. Here are a few of my favs of Taran and Caroline!
