Before/After

I had a great response on my last Before/After post, so I will try to do these every other week.  This one is a pretty big transformation.  A few months ago I went on an Urban Model Photo shoot in DT Phoenix.  We had some great models and awesome locations!!  Here is the before/after pic:

I really wanted an “urban” look for this picture.  I actually didn’t do any adjustments in levels since I really liked how it was exposed.  My first step was to run a defog at 20/60/0 and then ran the Derelicte action from the TRA set.  This gave her skin a nice creamy, glowing look.  I then removed the piece of paper/bottle cap that was on the ground by using the clone tool.  If I remember correctly, I wanted the letters in the background to stand out a bit more, so I darkened them a bit by using the burn tool at a low opacity.  I also burned the edges (more so on the bottom then on the top).  Lastly, sharpened with Smart Sharpen in PS.

This particular image was entered in the annual PPA contest…I probably won’t get the results until August, but I will keep you posted.

Enjoy!

Wow, that’s really a great SOOC, but I LOVE what you’ve done with it! Thanks for showing your before and after, and telling us what you’ve done to it. Good luck with it in the PPA contest :)

Christmas Pictures and Tri-Folds

I know it sounds crazy, but now is the time to start scheduling your Christmas photos.  I have such a busy wedding schedule this fall, I only have a limited amount of spots for Christmas photos.  I also have some BEAUTIFUL tri-folds to use as your Christmas cards.  These are an excellent way to showcase multiple photos to your friends and family.  They come printed on heavier-weighted paper, with a linen finish.  Here are a few examples of just the FRONT side of some of the tri-folds I offer.  Please call or email to schedule your appointment.

Just one of my little man

He turned 21 months today, which means he is OH SO CLOSE to being 2 years old.  He is such a smart, fun, loving and happy little boy!!  He LOVED watching the fireworks and kept saying “bam, bam, bam” when we got home.  Only about 5 more days until we fly up to Spokane to see all his Grandma’s and Grandpa’s!!  Hope you all had a HAPPY and SAFE 4th of JULY!!

Hey Keri… so this is really sounding tempting to Theresa and I right now… we’re honestly thinking about doing it. When do you need to know by? And can you do some serious editing on the pics if we don’t fit in our dresses like we did one day?!!?

Sneak Peek: Allison and Thomas Wedding Day!

This past Saturday we had the great honor to photograph Allison and Thomas’s big day!!  We started shooting VERY early (7:15 AM).  They got married at North Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ.  They have an absolutely WONDERFUL family!  They are all very welcoming, we felt right at home…thank you!!!  After the wedding A & T left for their honeymoon near the Alabama gulf area (Thomas is from Alabama).  Hope you two had a BLAST!!  Enjoy the pics!

As the FOB I just want to say how nice it was to “work” with Keri. You are truly a professional photographer, but more so a wonderful person to work with. The pics look great, can’t wait to see them all. Mike

Great pictures. I like the ring in the Bible too! Nice. The pic of the wedding party is great. Tell the FOB you take after your mother! :-) He gave you nice compliments. Great talent Ker!
