Soda Pop Talk…Before and After

SodaPopTalk.jpg

YEAH…my final series that I wanted to introduce to the world…Soda Pop Talk!!!  This series will feature Frequently Asked Questions and Before and After images.  So, if you have a question that you want featured on the Soda Pop Talk series, just shoot me an email, fill out my contact for or Facebook me with questions!!  :-)
To kick off the series, I chose an image from Cory’s modeling session.  The image on the top is the SOOC image (Straight-out-of-camera) and the bottom image is the edited version.  Underneath the images you will see my editing workflow.
Before.After.jpg
1.  Open image in Lightroom and adjust any exposure or WB issues.  This image was pretty good SOOC, so I exported into Photoshop.
2. Used the clone tool to get rid of small dark spots underneath her eyes.
3.  Duplicated layer and ran noiseware at about 50%.
4.  Merged layers.
5.  Ran Ying/Yang, from Totally Rad Actions, and proceeded to darken the background and black shirt and slight lightening of her skin.
6.  Ran Oh Snap, from TRA, at about 35%
7.  Ran Faded (golden), from TRA, at about 9%.  This gives the image a more golden tone, but I have to use it VERY sparingly because it is a strong action.
8.  Merged all layers and ran Smart Sharpen at 106/1.3
9.  Saved as a JPEG and it’s DONE!!  :-)

OMG!!! I love you! I took a shot at asking you about this last week not thinking a pro would give away their secret. Here you are showing me how it’s done!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this, you have no idea how frustrating it is to try to achieve a certain “look” and fail every time. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am a big fan of your work and wish I could mentor with you but you are so far away. :( TRA has made a sale today! And I would like to be your new best friend! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for sharing your workflow! I love how your simple adjustments take a good sooc picture to an amazing picture….without looking too photoshopped! This is something that I am trying to master, so it is great to learn from a master! I LOVE your editing tips…thank you so much!
