I met a wonderful business woman, about a week ago at the CRAVE Denver party, who sells some amazing products. Michaela of Mick&Mack is amazing! Full of energy, always positive and super fun to photograph!! We did a mini-shoot near downtown Denver and had a great time! Here are two of her images I shot of her:

Here are a few question I asked her to answer, along with some product images. NOTE: The little girl in the yellow tutu was photographed by Jocelyn Filley and the kiddos in the white and bright pink tutu’s are photographed by Regina Mountjoy.
1. What is the name of your company and how long have you been in business?
My company name is mick&mack. We started in September of 2006 and although I started with a business partner, I’m now on my own. Feels like ages ago!

2. What made you want to go into your line of work?
I have always been an entrepreneur. Alongside working with mick&mack, I am also a freelance graphic designer and part owner of a book publishing company in Sweden. Working for myself has its ups and downs but overall it gives me the freedom to work when and where I want to. For me, work has never been about making a ton of money, it’s been about making myself happy and doing what I love.

3. If you could do one thing over again (personal or business), what would it be?
Very good question! I would have set up more of a solid business plan from the beginning. I know, I know…I definitely should have done that but oops, I didn’t! In the beginning it was a lot of trial and error!
4. What is your favorite thing to eat? Drink?
I love Smultron. They are wild Swedish strawberries. I’m from Sweden and that smell and taste bring me back to being a kid. Drink? I love elderberry flower juice, another Swedish thing. My mom used to make it when we were younger. It defines Swedish summer for me!
5. What type of music/artist do you LOVE listening to?Currently I am still listening to my tutu mix and tutu mix 2 that were made for me in March. I was making so many tutus it felt like it was all I had time for! The music definitely got me through and I still listen to it all the time. It’s a mix with everything from Vampire Weekend to She&Him, and Lykke Li to Kid Cudi.
6. What do you like to do in your spare time?
6. What do you like to do in your spare time?
What spare time? Just kidding. I love going running, heading up to Aspen, meeting up with friends and grabbing a drink somewhere or heading out to a flea market. My favorite is the Paris Street Market held once a month here in Denver.
