Before Christmas, I wanted to get my 2011 associate photographer on board for portrait help, second-shooting opportunities and taking the lead at a wedding if I am already booked on a particular date.  Tami and I have a TON in common and we both LOVE photography.  Glad to have her on board!  To view Tami's portfolio, please check out her super-fun website here:  Tami Wilson Photography.

And, of course, I asked her a bunch of silly questions so you can get to know her better:

What is your favorite food?

Mexican. I can seriously eat it every single day.

How did you get into photography?

What can I say? I am a mom with a camera. No shame in that! What started out six years ago as a desire to take better pictures of my son turned into something I really never expected or planned on. I've always been a creative person and drawn towards the arts so I feel extremely blessed to have found my true passion in life. I don't know where I would be without photography and absolutely can't imagine my life without it.

What is your favorite part about living in Denver?

Besides the fact that Colorado is one of the most beautiful states I have ever seen. I am a total weather geek and LOVE the weather here. (I'll blame the weather geek part on my husband because he started it! )

The weather in Denver is best described by me as pure bliss. I love how quickly it changes from one day to the next and sometimes within hours. The summers are fabulous with the lovely afternoon thunderstorms that cool everything down and winters are so mild (usually!) with snow one day and gone the next. Who wouldn't love to live here?

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would love to travel all over Italy. I've actually had two trips to Italy planned in the past six years and had to cancel them for unforeseen reasons. Getting pregnant with my son was one! I'll make it there one day for sure.

Aside from photography, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I just taught myself to crochet and am really enjoying that at the moment. My other love is reading. I read just about every night right before I go to bed. I heart my Kindle! Best Christmas gift ever.

What is the one thing you'd like to improve upon, photography-wise?

I think photographers are always evolving and improving their skills. I know I personally learn something from each and every session I do. One area I am really focusing on this year is flash photography. As a natural light photographer I am completely comfortable in all types of natural light settings and now I want to take it to the next level and learn all types of lighting. I love the look you can get from OCF and am looking forward to rocking it!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Peanut butter and chocolate. Yum!

Tell us about your family.

I'm married to my college sweetheart. We've been together nearly 17 years! I know it's cliché to say but he really is my best friend and utterly supportive of everything I do. We have a six year old boy who is the sweetest little man I have ever met and makes me proud to be his momma. We moved to Colorado about five years ago from California and just absolutely fell in love with this state. A few things we enjoy doing as a family is hiking, bowling, playing Wii and going to the see movies on the first day they are released. We are big movie goers!

Would you rather go skiing or surfing?

Hmm...if you can believe it I've never done either. Yep, a girl born and raised in California that has never surfed and who now lives in Colorado and she has never gone skiing. I pick skiing though because we recently bought all the gear and we will hopefully be hitting the slopes soon.
